Enrique Morente in this cd entitled 'La Estrella' has in his hands the resonances of the old flamenco songs to express them, now, with a new, renewed voice and feeling; showing us something evident: that singing, like life, cannot be subjected to the immobility of a moment of stone. Perhaps Enrique Morente is one of the first - and undoubtedly the most persevering - flamenco artists working on the difficult but necessary task of revitalizing and updating flamenco singing, trying adapt it to our time.
